21 Weeks 1 Day - We have started the nursery!

It's official, we have purchased our little girl's crib and it is beautiful! Tate's sister, Jenna found a listing on Craigslist and emailed Tate and I about it. I contacted the seller right away and it was still available. Tate picked up the crib when I was in Florida and it was in the baby's room when I got home. We still have a lot of work to do for the nursery, but we have made the first step. :) This weekend Tate and I are going to work on getting the crib set up and purchasing a mattress for it. I have been looking at a bunch of different bedding and I have found a few that I really like. Now I just need to get Tate's approval. I know Tate is going to hate to hear this, but none of the bedding I picked out goes with a blue room, so we are really going to need to repaint the nursery. Every time I walk by the baby's room and see the crib, I smile because it's another sign that she will be with us shortly. I have to work on getting some money saved up for the dresser/changing table combo that goes with the crib. I have been known to be quite the saver when I need to, so I am sure it won't be too much longer until we can purchase that as well. This is all so exciting and I am loving every minute of it!

Baby Ticker - The Baby Countdown Pregnancy Ticker

21 Weeks - Fun in the Sun

I just got back from 4 full days of fun in the sun in Florida. I went to visit my mother-in-law, Shelley and we had a great time. We spent every day outside in the sun either walking on the beach or laying by the pool. Baby girl loved the sun too. Every time I would lay down in the sun, she would start moving all over the place. She also seemed to love the water too because she continued to move a lot when I was swimming. I think I am going to have to take her swimming more often, but since I live in MN, it will have to be indoors. It was a great trip and I really had a hard time getting on the plane last night after hearing that it snowed in MN over the weekend. Shelley was a great hostess as usual and us girls had a ton of fun shopping, playing in the sun and eating out. Grandma C. bought our little girl her first tiny jean skirt and it is ADOREABLE. I found some really good deals at baby GAP as well. I have officially started my shopping spree for our baby. But hey, if you can get great deals on clothes why not? :) I will post pictures of the clothes later on today. Baby girl has been moving so much lately, I can tell she is getting stronger and stronger each day.

20 Weeks, 2 Days - Heartburn Havoc

Oh my goodness, I never realized just how bad heart burn can be when you are pregnant. I have always had a touchy tummy, but nowadays I am popping Tums like they are candy. Last night I woke up in the middle of the night with severe heart burn. Thank goodness I keep a bottle of Tums on the night stand. It doesn't seem to matter what I eat, I always have heart burn. Oh well, I guess that is a small price to pay for our little girl. At least baby and I are getting a lot of extra Calcium from the Tums. :)

20 Weeks!! I am half way there!

Today officially marks my half way point in my pregnancy. It's hard to believe how quickly the time passes by. I am sure I won't be feeling the same way towards the end of my pregnancy. :) Last night I went to Fairview Ridges hospital for their class, "A meeting at the birthplace". It was really fun to see all of the pregnant women there and to visit the nursery and rooms where I will deliver our little girl this September. I learned a lot of great things last night regarding giving birth and how to take care of the baby afterwards. I am so excited for this little one to make her big debute this Fall. It will be one exciting time, that's for sure.

19 Weeks, 6 Days...It's Finally Sinking In

After going to my sister-in-law's baby shower yesterday, I think it has finally sunk in that I am having a baby. You would think with my ever-expanding tummy that I would have realized this sooner, but I guess I have just felt the news is too good to be true. I feel so absolutely blessed to have a wonderful husband, great family and now a baby girl on the way. I can feel her move throughout the day. I call her "my traveling companion" because she is with me everywhere I go. I have already started looking at bedding and accessories on how we can decorate her room. The baby room is currently blue, but I am working on Tate to get it painted a different color. Wish me luck, I think I am going to need all the help I can get with that one. :) There are so many things to do, so I have started making a list of my "to-do's". Otherwise I can definitely see myself procrastinating too long and trying to get a bunch of things done at the end. Most importantly baby girl and Mommy are feeling great and are very happy!

19 Weeks 3 days

It's official.....there is movement. For weeks now I have been trying to figure out if the little twinges in my stomach were actually the baby or just my tummy rumbling. However, I can officially say that I have felt the baby move and that I continue to feel the baby move a lot throughout the day. Yesterday was the first day Tate was able to feel his little daughter moving around in my tummy and it was pretty amazing.

19 weeks 2 days....Boy or Girl

Today was a big day for Tate and I as we went in for our level 2 ultrasound. We were in there for almost 2 hours and after many measurements, we were told the baby looks great and is very healthy. We also found out that we are having a............................GIRL! I was completely shocked because I was sure we were having a boy. This pregnancy has been so different than my last pregnancy so I just assumed it must be because I am having a boy. But, we were officially able to determine that we are having a little girl. She weighs out at 11 oz and measures over 6 inches long. My due date is still 9/9/08, which happens to be my grandmother's birthday who passed away in January. I know she is up there watching out for all of us and I feel very blessed. I am so relieved to know our baby is doing well and I can finally breathe a sigh of relief. We are so excited to become parents and I can't wait for the day of her arrival.
